About the Speaker
Sandra Azcarate is an expressionist artist, specializing in figurative painting and drawing, using bold color contrasts, and addressing social issues to help create positive social change and inclusivity in society. She was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in painting at the University of Kansas. She also has studies in Animation and Media Arts from the Art Institute of Colorado and Art History from Metropolitan State University. At the Denver Art Museum, she works in Visitor Services as a Gallery Host.
